Summer Belles is an eye-catching hand-painted paper design, communicating the social freedom that many began to experience in the 1970s.

Like many other designs in the Archive Collection, it highlights another side of Warner & Sons’ legacy – that of bold, cutting-edge design, pushing the boundaries of what had gone before.

You may also have seen Summer Belles as part of our Art in Print publicity. We’re proud to be working with Braintree Library to promote the diversity of Warner & Sons’ portfolio, as well as the town’s textile heritage, and this new exhibition opens on Saturday 27th September. Designs from the Warner Textile Archive have been reproduced as prints, all of which will be available to order at the exhibition.

Dates: Saturday 27th September until Saturday 1st November
Venue: Braintree Library, Fairfield Road, Braintree CM7 3YL
Entry: Free between 9am and 5pm, Monday to Saturday
